MENTORS
Young Mentors & Work Experience Programme
Our Young Mentors & Work Experience Programme gives young people aged 14–18 the opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on work experience alongside our team and supporting younger children in STEM.
Young people can become involved in our after-school clubs, holiday programmes and STEM activities, where they have the opportunity to mentor younger children, support practical activities and learn from experienced educators and STEM professionals.
Along the way, they develop valuable transferable skills including communication, teamwork, leadership, mentoring, public speaking, organisation and time management – while discovering their own strengths and building confidence in a real working environment.
For sixth formers students, the programme can provide particularly valuable experience when preparing for university, apprenticeships and future employment. We also provide training in Safeguarding and LEGO Robotics & Engineering, together with guidance and references to support their next steps.
We believe that one of the best ways to develop confidence and leadership is to have the opportunity to use your own knowledge to inspire someone younger.

If you are aged 14–18 and would like to gain experience as a young mentor or volunteer with Engineering Minds, we would love to hear from you.
