ALEX KLEIN

Satellite Instrumentation Engineer

Alex has worked on several flagship astrophysics missions. Across organizations in both the UK and US, he has been involved with the Habitable Worlds Observatory (a follow on to James Webb Space Telescope) and the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA), set launch in 2035. In his talk “Exploring the Universe with Space Telescopes”, Alex will dive into the fascinating scientific motivations and complex engineering achievements of such marvelous endeavors.

MATT SOPER

Managing Director of The Creation Lab

Matt has decades of experience in the creative industries, working with the Financial Times online, Nickelodeon, Capital Disney and Heart radio before starting The Creation Lab in early 2010. His passion for creativity has been integral in The Creation Lab’s success.

Matt is dedicated to supporting local businesses, charities and not-for-profit organisations. He is a Kent-based Dad and is passionate about educating children about the creative industries; we are looking forward to welcoming him to one of our after-school classes to speak to our students about web design!

DR MAZDAK GHAJARI

Lecturer in Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London

His background is Mechanical Engineering and he has had several years of engineering experience in the automotive and petrochemical industries. His research focuses on understanding how mechanical forces can lead to brain injuries in road traffic accidents, sporting and falls. Designing better protection systems, such as helmets, is his other research interest. He leads a team of PhD and Postdoc researchers, and collaborates closely with neurologist and neurosurgeons at Imperial College Hospitals.
