CODING CLUB
Our Coding Club is an exciting after-school programme where children learn to code through a series of creative, hands-on projects. Designed for children in Years 3 to 6, the club builds digital confidence and logical thinking in a fun and engaging way.
Each session is project-based, allowing children to design games, animations, and interactive digital experiences using a range of child-friendly coding tools. Each class requires children to use maths, animation and creative skills, and reflect on what makes a game successful and credible.
We begin with an easy-to-understand coding environment that helps children understand both programming
and video game development. We use platforms like Scratch and Minecraft Education, which offer an accessible introduction to key programming concepts. As children grow in confidence, we gradually introduce them to more advanced coding environments, helping them develop real-world tech skills step by step.
What children will learn:
- Core coding concepts like sequencing, loops, and conditionals
- Game and animation design
- Digital storytelling and interactive media
- Problem-solving and debugging
- Introduction to more advanced coding languages and logic
- Safe and creative use of digital tools
